When I was around 13 years old, my scalp began flaking at an alarming rate.  I was diagnosed with psoriasis.  Years of difficult scalp applications and shampoos were tried and steroid creams through various doctors – none of them worked.  They admitted that it would not heal….like, uuum, ever.  How’s that for a curse spoken over you!

It eventually spread to my ears. It was itchy. Dry skin fell onto my clothes continually.   Every few minutes I had to shake off the flakes. I finally decided to never wear dark tops because it was embarrassing.

Years later I encountered a health trial regarding my precious baby boy. (Another story for another time.) I began looking into dietary changes to correct health issues. This led me to research plants as healing.  (You know, like the Bible says) I removed toxic chemicals from my home as much as possible.

All kinds of restrictive diets were tried to gain the promised healing of my skin.  Less sugar and processed food did seem to stop the swelling and pain associated with this skin condition. It had now spread to my elbows which became dry and cracked especially in the winter.  Many times I bled from the patches. It was also embarrassing.  It was very noticeable, and many asked if I was contagious. However, my clean diet kept it from becoming psoriatic arthritis, which is many times the progression of this disease.

I noticed that this condition cleared up completely three times in my life.  It was when I was pregnant. I told several doctors, including dermatologists. They all said it was a coincidence. Hmmm… yea OK.  I knew it was related to hormones but did not know how to address that.  I began using a wild yam cream daily.  It stopped spreading, for a while.

Life for me got extremely busy with homeschooling three children, many activities for them, a mostly absent husband, and then ultimately a destructive life changing decision.  The lesions spread along my spine and hips.

I learned more about God and who I am in Jesus.  I knew a lot about my Father and His Word, but I had some incorrect beliefs that were affecting my health.  I started to speak life over my body and line my thinking up with what He says.

I began using Young Living essential oils throughout my day- in water, on my body, and diffusing.  Supplements too.  I felt great, but the lesions continued to grow, now on my neck near my face!  As long as my diet was clean, they did not hurt or bleed.  I continued to thank God for healing me.  I asked for wisdom daily- not just for this, of course.  I knew I was missing a puzzle piece, but just did not know what to do.

Then one day, Liz James told me she had just spoken to a lady in Australia who has a skin clinic that told her that psoriasis was hormonal.  I was like, “Yep, I know.”  Liz had never heard that in the pharmacy world.  I set up an appointment with Maria and got lab work done that was needed for my treatment protocol. After less than one month of starting the treatment, the lesions on my elbows, face, abdomen, and ears are gone! GONE. The places on my spine and hips are fading.

Understand me -I did nothing that harmed my body!  I found my final piece of the puzzle. My protocol included Young Living essential oils and Maria’s plant based supplement. I continued mineral, vitamin, and antioxidant supplementation, maintained a non toxic environment inside and out, and renewed my mind with God’s word.

But at the end of the day I am grateful that….hormones can be corrected with plants and faith.  And healing can be ours in this world! My hope is that others will not give up on living free from whatever is keeping you from your best life!  He made a way!

Praise our Father, Creator of heaven and earth! Thank you Jesus for by Your stripes we are healed.
